April 2013 Tree crop conference: Dr Robin Janson and Dr Glen Creasy, followed by Peter Hill – Table Grapes.
NZ can grow grapes – but we turn them into wine and import $50 million worth of table grapes every year. Dr Janson, Chairman of NZ Table Grapes Association and Lincoln University viticulture lecturer Dr Glen Creasy will present the latest research in suitable table varieties, their cultivation and marketing in New Zealand. They are promoting fresh NZ table grapes as a potential high-value niche crop for small holders. Peter Hill a NZTCA Waikato member who grows table grapes part time will talk about his experience and be available for questions.
